What are the HELiMESH25® advantages?2017-05-18T19:08:14+00:00

Manufactured from 316 Stainless Steel Wire Cable & Tube Frame, HELiMESH® is extremely resistant to corrosion, even in the harshest offshore conditions.

Unlike other safety nets made from synthetic rope / webbing or PVC coated fencing mesh, HELiMES® will not burn or melt and will not deteriorate with exposure to UV rays or bird guano.

With up to 25 years service life HELiMESH® will dispense with repeated costly installations of inferior safety net systems and should outlast the life span of the facility.

HELiMES® safety net panels are light-weight, pre-fabricated in any shape or size ready to install, and can be installed without scaffolding. All materials and tools required for installation are supplied with delivery of the safety net panels.

Does HELiMESH® fully comply with CAP 437 and UK O&G Guidelines on Helideck safety issue 2?2019-08-09T05:41:13+00:00

Yes.

HELIMESH10® AND HELIMESH25® are two of only three safety net systems in the world which fully complies with British Civil Aviation Authority CAP437 Guideline and Oil and Gas U.K. “Helideck Perimeter Safety Nets – Issue 2”. Type testing as required by these documents was witnessed by D.N.V. – G.L. (Det Norske Veritas – Germanische Lloyd).

HELiMESH10® and HELiMESH25® are TWO out of only three helicopter perimeter safety netting which fully complies to the above mentioned standards

How did you test HELiMESH®?2019-08-09T05:36:59+00:00

Rigorous type testing has been conducted in accordance with CAP437/O.G.U.K. guidelines. A drop test load of 295kg from 1m has been applied to the same HELiMESH® test panel with 10 repetitions without failure.

This far exceeds the O.G.U.K. required test load of 125kg.

We also have a Pull-through “Energy Testing” has also been conducted in the U.K. A result of 7.2kJ was achieved, exceeding the O.G.U.K. requirements of 6kJ.

A concentrated test load of 1000kg has been applied to a Helimesh test panel without failure. The total surface area footprint of dead weight to net surface was less than 0.1m². This test is not a requirement of any standard or guideline, rather it was only for our own research and development purposes.

How do we install HELiMESH® on our helideck?2019-08-09T05:37:06+00:00

Installation of the HELiMESH® helicopter perimeter safety net system is normally undertaken by the facility’s maintenance crew however a specialist installation crew can be provided if preferred or required.

Can HELiMESH® be removed and reinstalled if nessesary?2019-08-09T05:37:15+00:00

Yes, HELiMESH® helicopter perimeter safety netting is made to ensure not only maximum safety, but also quick removal for maintenance / access if needed.

Because the HELiMESH system comprises individual custom-made panels, it allows for quick removal and reinstallation if access to a particular segment of the helideck perimeter underside should be required.

How easy can you make our annual testing?2017-05-18T19:08:14+00:00

HELiMESH25®has a “Service Life Indicator panel” included as a standard on all Projects.

The panel is to be fixed in a readily accessible location that will be subjected to the same environmental elements as the installed Helimesh helideck perimeter structure safety net panels.

The system is designed so that the facility manager or operator every year can remove one piece of wire sample and send it to HELiMESH for testing. This way there are no costly on sight testing or shut downs of the helideck required.

Difference between SST and Copper ferrules2017-05-18T19:08:14+00:00

The client is free to choose between SSt and Copper ferrules. Most our clients choose SSt ferrules as they are made of the same 316 grade SSt as the wire and HELIMESH 25® tube frame. Only difference is the higher content of molybdenum 2.5 instead of 2.0 percent. Copper ferrules doesn’t corrote althoug made of dissimilar metal to stainless steel. The reason is that Copper has the ability to protect itself with a thin layer of Copper oxide.

What’s the cost of HELiMESH® per year?2017-05-18T19:08:14+00:00

Due to the long life span of HELiMESH 25® the cost per year is low compared to all other products. Down to half the yearly costs. On top of that the client gets the advantages of HELIMESH 25™ such as: Annual test regime, No down periods due to repeateded retrofitting, No costely annual in situ testing.

HELiMESH25 is very suitable for newbuilds and retrofits of constructions with a long life expectancy.

HELiMESH 10™ has lower initial costs than HELiMESH 25™. As the life span is shorter the costs per year is higher but the client still gets the advantages of a service life test system, longer service life than any other safety net system except from HELiMESH 25™ and of cause the benefits of a product consisting of AISI grade 316 Stainless steel instead of inferior materials like poly fibres, carbon steel, Sisal etc.

HELiMESH10 is very suitable for a limited budget or a construction with a limited life expectancy.
